Jamaica are Super50 champs!

PROVIDENCE, Guyana, CMC – Jamaica were crowned Regional Super50 kings on Saturday, after an unbroken 45-run stand between Tamar Lambert and Shawn Findlay ushered them to a five-wicket victory over Trinidad & Tobago.

HPC bat in 2nd Super50 semi

PROVIDENCE, Guyana, CMC – Sagicor High Performance Centre won the toss and chose to bat in the second semi-final of the Regional Super50 tournament against Jamaica on Thursday at the Guyana National Stadium here.

Super50 semis & final live on ESPN

Miami, FL - ESPN Caribbean will telecast LIVE the two semifinal and final matches of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Regional Super50 2011 on October 26, 27 and 29 from Guyana National Stadium in Providence. Each match will begin at 1:30 p.m. local time.

Special semis for final four

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – There is something extra-special about reaching the semi-finals of the Regional Super50 tournament for all four teams taking part.

Hosts Guyana face Trinidad & Tobago in the first semi-final on Wednesday under the lights at the Guyana National Stadium, where the second semi-final also takes place under the lights the following day between Jamaica and West Indies High Performance Centre.

Gayle's 147 spearheads Jamaica

 

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – West Indies opener Chris Gayle plundered the first hundred of the Regional Super50 tournament on Saturday, propelling Jamaica to a convincing 134-run victory over Combined Campuses & Colleges.

Jamaica cash in on Super Bonuses

Georgetown, Guyana – Jamaica and Guyana head the points tables for their respective groups after the first round matches in the Regional Super50 in Guyana.

Jamaica racked up bountiful Super Bonus Points in their thrashing of the Leeward Islands.

The Jamaicans now sit pretty at the top of the table with 8 points. They got 4 points for their win plus 2 Super Bonus Points for bowling out Leewards for under 150 and another 2 Super Bonus Points for overhauling the Leewards score at a rate of over six runs per over.

Skeldon rises to top of money pile

Georgetown, Guyana – Jamaica’s crushing victory over the Leeward Islands pushed their partner club – Skeldon Cricket Club – to the top of the money pile in the WICB Super Club Assistance Programme which is part of the on-going Regional Super50.

Fudadin & Jacobs christen Super Caps

Georgetown, Guyana – When Guyana captain Assad Fudadin and all rounder Steven Jacobs take the field on Friday against Sagicor High Performance Centre their head gear will be distinctly different from the green Guyana cap.

The duo will inaugurate the Super50 Super Caps for being the leading batsman and bowler respectively for Group A.

After the first round matches for Group A, Fudadin has tallied the most runs with his top score of 45 in a low scoring affair against Windwards.

Jamaica romp; Mohammed fights for TT

 

Georgetown, Guyana – Jamaica are cruising to victory at the Guyana National Stadium against Leeward Islands in their opening clash of the Regional Super50.

Jamaica are 55 without loss at lunch chasing 97 to win after they blew the defending champs away for under 100.

Captain Chris Gayle is batting with usual vengeance and is on 22 while his opening partner Kennar Lewis is on 28.

2 new caps in Jamaica Super50 squad

Kingston, Jamaica, CMC – Uncapped players Jermaine Blackwood and Kenar Lewis have been selected in the Jamaica squad for this month’s West Indies Cricket Board’s Regional Super50 Championship in Guyana. Blackwood, a 19-year-old batsman, who bowls off-spin, and Lewis, a 20-year-old opener, are two former Jamaica Under-19 players.
